Hayley Thompson came to FLWBC in 2024, she had a dream: a cat café where people could sip lattes, relax, and maybe even adopt a furry friend. She had passion, curiosity, and a willingness to learn — but no entrepreneurial experience. She wanted to make sure she was “doing it the right way.”
Together, we explored the steps to launch her idea, from budgeting to business registration. But as Hayley dug deeper into the realities of opening a cat café — parking permits, landlord restrictions, and complex licensing — she realized the concept wasn’t feasible in her desired location. Instead of giving up, she pivoted.
With our support, Hayley reimagined her vision and launched a mobile espresso bar, a business that allowed her creativity to shine through unique coffee and tea flavors. She secured equipment, permits, and suppliers, then began showing up at local markets and community events. We worked with her on marketing strategies, helping her understand how a strong website and social media presence could amplify her reach, it worked.
As people discovered her at events and online, her reputation grew. Soon, private event requests began rolling in - so many that she eventually stopped doing farmers markets altogether. In 2025 she completed 60 private events, and she has already surpassed that number going into the 2nd quarter of 2026. Currently she has 3 mobile carts and 2 employees.
Hayley is running a thriving, indemand mobile coffee business. What started as a cat café dream evolved into something even better - a sustainable, growing company built on resilience, research, and the willingness to adapt. Her story is a testament to what can happen when an entrepreneur receives the right guidance at the right time and has the courage to follow where the journey leads.
